見到樽身寫住 peptide，係咪即刻代表有效？Peptide serum 係含有肽類成分嘅外用護膚精華；單靠呢個名稱，未能知道成樽產品有幾多實際證據。今日只講搽上皮膚嘅護膚品，唔涉及注射 peptide。

一項 2005 年研究測試特定含 pal-KTTKS 嘅保濕配方，報告細紋及皺紋評估優於對照。[1] 呢個結果值得了解，但唔能夠直接套落所有 peptide serum，更唔係 Project 46 產品嘅功效證明。

另一項研究係配合激光療程使用 serum。[2] 如果研究同時有療程，便唔可以將結果當成只搽精華都會有同樣效果。研究背景同配方一樣重要。

睇產品資料時，可以問：試驗用嘅係咪同一配方？同乜嘢比較？用咗幾耐？有幾多人參與？一個成分名，回答唔晒呢啲問題。

開始用新護膚品之前，可參考美國皮膚科學會嘅小範圍試用指引；如果出現皮膚反應就停用，嚴重或持續不適應求醫。[3] 今日嘅小任務：揀一樽精華，搵下品牌有冇提供成品測試資料。

Look at the formula and the context

Does “peptide” on a bottle automatically mean it works? A peptide serum is a topical skincare serum containing peptide ingredients. The category name alone tells you little about the evidence for the finished formula. We are discussing products applied to skin, not injectable peptides.

A 2005 study of a particular pal-KTTKS moisturizer reported better fine-line and wrinkle assessments than its control. [1] That is evidence worth examining, but it cannot establish the effectiveness of every peptide serum—or any Project 46 product.

Another trial studied a serum alongside laser treatment. [2] Results from that setting cannot establish the same benefit from a serum used alone. The treatment context matters as much as the formula.

When reading product claims, ask: was this exact formula tested? Against what? For how long? In how many people? An ingredient name cannot answer those questions.

Before introducing skincare, consider the American Academy of Dermatology’s small-area testing advice. Stop if a skin reaction develops, and seek care for severe or persistent symptoms. [3] Today’s task: pick one serum and look for evidence about the finished product.
